Single-site thermal and temperature monitoring study (December 2025): 32 Aerofoils installed on a 28-foot HillPhoenix O5DMH8 run that had difficulty maintaining product temperatures. Compares two-day baseline averages to two-day post-install averages using store monitoring data and thermal imaging.
Key Findings
- Average in-cabinet temperature reduction: 1.31°F (up to 1.74°F)
- Maximum temperature reduction up to 3.2°F; minimum up to 1.6°F
- Overnight thermal imaging: up to 3.8°F reduction at air curtain
- Aisle temperatures increased up to 2.3°F — less cold air spill

Detailed findings
Installation details
32 Aerofoils were installed on a 28 linear-foot HillPhoenix O5DMH8 refrigerated run that had been experiencing difficulty maintaining consistent product temperatures. Store monitoring data and thermal imaging were used to compare two-day baseline averages to two-day post-install averages.
Technology overview
- Aerodynamic design developed in partnership with Williams Formula One.
- Doubles as a price tag holder — no separate label strip needed.
- Directs cold air back into the cabinet as it passes each shelf, strengthening the air curtain.
- Prevents cold air spill from open fridges and reduces heat load over cooling coils.
Summary findings
1.31°F
In-cabinet temp reduction (avg)
1.74°F
In-cabinet temp reduction (max)

| PF G&G Roti | 36.95 | 36.09 | −0.85 | +1.3 | −1.6 |
PF G&G Roti showed a +1.3°F increase in maximum temperature — the only outlier in the dataset. Average and minimum temperatures still improved.
